Emma Lindberg, a six-year old girl tells children of all ages that having courage is more than fighting dragons in a story in her book Emma's Book of Courage. She reminds us all that we need to have courage in so many different situations.
I was asked a few weeks ago to read and review Emma's Book of Courage, and I took advantage of it. What a great way to share a new book for young children with so many others! I also knew that my daughter would love it and could learn so much from it.
Emma tells the reader all about different situations we may need courage. Most of us automatically think we would need it in a scary or new situation, but what about when we are upset with our friends or have to do the right thing? All of that takes courage, and my daughter really needed to hear that right now!
It was a hit with my daughter! She loved it and really understood what it means to have courage. Being written by a child her own age made it more real to her. It wasn't like some adult was telling her to have courage, but a young girl was telling her, just like a friend.
Emma's ideas also have some great discussion points for children. They can definitely dig deeper into what it means to have courage and show that courage for others.
All in all, you don't want to miss this wonderful book, Emma's Book of Courage, with a look into what courage means, according to a young child!
You can find out more about Emma and her book at her website, Emma's Courage. You can also download color sheets and see a special message from Emma about finding courage in everything you do.
I received a free copy of this book to review. All of the opinions are my own and no other compensation was received for my opinions.
