Book Talk Thursday ~ Rex Finds an Egg! Egg! Egg!

Yay for another week of Book Talk Thursday and another Virginia Readers Choice! Today's book is perfect for this time of year as we think about eggs and all of those fun things!

Rex Finds and Egg! Egg! Egg! is a fun book about a dinosaur who finds an egg right outside of a nest. He runs away from the volcano getting ready to erupt and other obstacles, all the time trying to keep the egg. The pictures really tell the story and readers have to use some inferencing skills to get the total idea of the book. I actually had to read it several times to truly understand it!

Not only would the book be perfect for helping readers to infer, it is also great for helping readers see how a situation calls for saying things a different way. See how Rex and the author say "egg" and "cliff" differently to show intensity?

When reading the book, the reader needs to show that intensity as situations change.
