Book Talk Thursday ~ This book just ate my dog!

I am having so much fun reading all of the Virginia Readers Choice books for 2016-2017. My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed today's book This book just ate my dog! by Richard Byrne.

In the book, young Bella takes her dog out for what seems like a simple walk. As she takes her dog down the sidewalk, it gets eaten in the middle of the book, right where the pages meet. And as help comes along, they all end up being eaten by the book.  Finally, Bella decides to go find out how she can help and is eaten by the book. A letter arrives.

Bella tells the reader to shake the book, which we do.

The outcome cracked us up!  My daughter has asked me to buy her this book.  She absolutely loves it!  It reminds me a lot of The Monster at the End of This Book, one of my favorites as a child because I interacted with the book. Kids of all ages will enjoy reading this book and interacting with the fun it has to offer.  Hopefully, you will laugh as hard as we did with this book!
