Book Talk Thursday ~ TBT ~ Shoe-la-la

Hello, all!  I have been busy this week and am going into my archives for Book Talk Thursday today.

Last summer my daughter's favorite book was Shoe-la-la! , so this post is from a year ago.  It is a fun book full of rhyme and shoes!  Check it out and enjoy the freebie at the end!

I love, love, love reading with my kids!  See my post about why we read together by clicking {here}.  Ginny Beth is so impressionable, so I spend a lot of time reading with her.  She loves shoes, so when I saw this book, Shoe-La-La! I had to get it for her!
We read it all the time and really enjoy it!  The book is about four girls who are getting ready for a party, but they do not have "party shoes" to wear.  They head on to the store "Shoe La La" where they try on every pair of shoes in the store, much to the annoyance of the shop owner.  The illustrations make the book even more enjoyable as the girls throw shoes all over the place and make a huge mess.  Ginny Beth likes to pick out the shoes she will wear and the shoes I will wear from the "piles and piles that fill the aisles".

The book is full of rhyme, and Ginny Beth has already started repeating the rhymes with me.  It is so much fun!  This will be fun for the students as they listen to rhyme.  Every little girl will enjoy the book and its fun rhythmic tone.

I have not had a freebie in a while, so this week I have a fun freebie for you!  These rhyming puzzles will be perfect for helping young students with this important skill.  Click {here} or on the picture below to grab it.

Next week I will be back with a new post and a new book for Book Talk Thursday!  See you then!

  1. I will need to get this book! I love to rhyme with my second graders, and it would be a perfect story to include when I use the Fancy Nancy series to build vocabulary skills and study synonyms and antonyms! Thanks for sharing!
