This summer I plan to read a lot, and most will be mindless reads, but I always like to read a couple of good professional books. Here are two I plan to read this summer
1. Genre Connections: Lessons to Launch Literary and Nonfiction Texts
I loved, loved, loved Comprehension Connections: Bridges to Strategic Reading
2. Word Callers: Small-Group and One-to-One Interventions for Children Who "Read" but Don't Comprehend (The Research-Informed Classroom)
My supervisor purchased this book for us, and I have not had a chance to read it. I have a lot of "word callers" and want to find out how I can help them to comprehend. I am hoping this will help me get them to understand what they are reading.
And I will be participating in a book study with some bloggy friends with the book Teach Like a Pirate: Increase Student Engagement, Boost Your Creativity, and Transform Your Life as an Educator
What professional books will you be reading this summer? I can always add some new ones to my list!
