Teacher Fitness: Motivation

I love this little linky with my friend Melissa at Don't Let the Teacher Stay Up Late.  It really gets me thinking about why I work hard at my fitness goals.
This month is all about motivation.  What is my motivation to get up at 4:45 every morning to head to my basement to work out?  Here is why!

Truly, if I don't work out, I feel like blah!  Working out every morning gives me energy for the entire day!  After having my son, I didn't lose the weight too quickly.  It took me almost six years to get it off, and I did that with my wonderful neighbors and a little help from my friends at Weight Watchers.  And that is the other part of my motivation.   I was paying to lose weight, and I don't want to do that again.  But it was worth it, and I feel great!

Then, I got pregnant with my daughter and lost the weight relatively quickly because I stuck with the eating plan I had made for myself.  I love my clothes and don't want to buy any new ones either.  I love this card below.  That is how I feel about being motivated!  Except I would love to fit into something from high school if I had kept it!
Funny Friendship Ecard: I'm not bragging or anything, but I can still fit into my high school earrings.
For the most part, I am motivated by the fact that my energy level is amazing when I work out in the morning.  It makes me feel like I can work with those "one and a half minute" attention span kindergarteners when I just don't feel like it!  And kindergarteners wear me out!

Not only is my energy much higher, but I don't have elevated blood pressure or health problems I had before.  That in itself is so worth it!

And it really helps to have a good book to read on my Nook while I am on the treadmill.  There are some mornings I can't wait to get up and read the next little bit of the book!

So, I leave you with this little bit of motivation:

Now, get motivated and get fit or stay fit!  And link up your motivation with Don't Let the Teacher Stay Up Late!

  1. Great post! I agree. When I work out in the morning, I actually do feel more energized for the day. I feel you on working with those kindergarten attention spans! We need all the energy we can get!

  2. Those ecards are so funny! I finally got myself up yesterday morning and started my workouts again (although now I legitimately can't do my videos because they're painting upstairs and all of our stuff is in the living room). I felt much more awake all day. Thanks for linking up and sharing your motivations!

  3. Thanks for the motivation, Andrea! I know you're right about the morning workouts, I just have to make myself go to sleep at a decent hour! :-)
