Monday Made It ~ Finally!

I finally have something to post for Monday Made It with Tara at Fourth Grade Frolics!
I love little bows and flowers for my little girl's hair!  Every day I pull her hair back because it gets in her eyes, and I just can't bear to cut it yet!  When I finish, we pick out a bow or "flou-flou" (flower) for her hair that matches her outfit.  I think it has become an obsession for both of us.
Well, I was tired of paying an outrageous amount for them, so I decided to make my own because they are sooooo simple!  Here is what I did!

First, we went to the Dollar Tree and picked up these pretty flowers.  I had purchased the bows through Pick Your Plum a while back and just needed the clips.  I found the clips at Wal Mart ~ 33 clips for $3.50, way more than I needed!

Then, I pulled a flower off of the stem and cut it down to put the clip on it.

This is where the hot glue gun came in handy!  I hot glued the clip onto the flower.

For it to dry, I placed it on my freebie Staples bag to dry, so the clip didn't stick together.

For the bows, I just hot glued the clip onto the back of the bow and then let it dry the same way.

Now, look at all of my fun bows and flowers!  Love them all!  And I still have plenty of flowers to make more!

Head on over to Fourth Grade Frolics to see what everyone else has made!

  1. So cute, Andrea! Have you seen the ones on Pinterest/Etsy that are ribbon Disney characters? Adorable! We made all of them for just a few dollars.

    Have a great day!

  3. The bows turned out great! You are right. Hair accessories are outrageously priced. Glad you were able to make your own!
