Next week, I am going to do read-alouds and DLTAs (Directed Listening Thinking Activities) with various Halloween books since it is going to be CRAZY! (If you have never done these, here is a simple guide for how to conduct one.) Plus, there are two days that have special things going on, so it will be sporadic.
I love the book The Hallo-weiner by Dav Pilkey ~ who doesn't? It is a great story about how we should be kind to each other because we never know who may come to our rescue one day. So, I am going to read this to all of my second grade groups and do activities with it all week. I created this fun foldable activity to do with them.
You can get it FREE here at my TPT store!
My first graders will be studying owls and spiders this week. Since I actually work with them during their unit time, I try to incorporate those ideas into my lessons. It really is hard to find information on owls that is easy for students to read, so I created this easy reader about owls. It has a simple repetitive text that incorporates all of the facts the students need to know. It also includes a vocabulary word sheet for the students to work on.
You can get it here at my TPT store on sale for half price through the weekend! The wonderful Mel from Graphics from the Pond created the line art for her Flyin' Owls graphics set for the book! I LOVE it!
Speaking of graphics ~ Tammy at Dots of Fun is trying to get to 200 followers. She has some super fun stuff that I would love to have! I am really eyeing these new Hot Chocolate and Marshmallow Fun Graphics. Go stop by her blog and check out her fun clip art!
As you can see, I am a clip art junkie! I LOVE clip art and creating with it.
I am ready for a Fun Friday after Boring Testing Days! I hope your Friday is as fun as mine!
Until next time!
