Understanding Feelings with The Real MVP Kids

It's tough being a kid in today's world. There are so many things that our children want to do, but sometimes life gets in the way for them. Now, there are some books to help children understand their emotions and find ways to control them.
It's tough being a kid sometimes! Their feelings are all over the place sometimes. The Real MVP Kids have ways to help young children better understand their feelings in these new books.

I received complimentary copies of these books in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions are my own. Affiliate links may also be present in this post to help fund future book purchases.

The Real MVP Kids have two series of books that help children understand and deal with their emotions:  Help Me Become and Help Me Understand.

Help Me Become

The short stories in the Help Me Become series help younger children better understand their emotions through short stories. Working with issues such as lying, disobedience, and bullies, these books give insight into children's feelings. The short stories keep children engaged with stories of something that could actually happen to them; things that upset them and cause them to make poor choices.

What I love most about the Help Me Become series, as a mom and reading specialist, are the questions that follow each story. One set of questions focuses on story elements, making children recall information from the story. The second set of questions asks children how the story relates to their own lives, including hows and whys. I love both sets of questions because they really make children think about and apply what they read.

Help Me Understand

It's tough being a kid sometimes! Their feelings are all over the place sometimes. The Real MVP Kids have ways to help young children better understand their feelings in these new books.

The longer stories in the Help Me Understand series help children better understand how to deal with feelings. When things don't seem to be going the way children have planned, they don't always show their feelings in a productive way. In the books Blake Rewires the Failure Circuit and Miriam Lassoes the Worry Whirlwind, the characters have work with adults to help them better understand how they are feeling. Through discussion and problem solving, everyone works together to work through a difficult situation. Many children have these feelings, so these books definitely hit home!

Again, I love the Help Me Understand series for not only the content, but the questions they offer up. They help parents and children have real conversations about the feelings, as well as recall information about the books.
