Getting Teachers Ready for Book Talk Thursday

Getting ready for school can be tough for everyone, but what happens when the kids get the teacher ready?

It's Back to School time! As a matter of fact, I am on day 4 with kids already. I'm exhausted and tired, but after this week, it always get easier. So, how do we all get ready for Back to School? So many different ways, and sometimes we need some pointers. In the book How to Get Your Teacher Ready by Jean Reagan {Affiliate link provided to fund future book purchases.}, some young kids tell us how they can help their teacher get ready for the entire school year.

Book Summary

I honestly thought this book would be a beginning of the year book only, but it actually spans the entire school year. The kids in the teacher's class give her ideas for every aspect of the school year, including specials, holidays, and anything that could go wrong. The pictures give a fun idea of how it can be for a teacher throughout the school year.

Classroom Application

This book is a no brainer  to use in our classrooms. Teachers can begin the year with it and have students write about how they would help a teacher throughout the school year. The book can also be used at the end of the year for the kids to help their next year's teacher. I love the versatility in the book, How to Get Your Teacher Ready! I have created a simple writing prompt you can use with your class at any time of the year. You can grab it by clicking {here} or on the picture below.

And you can also get so many more in the series! What fun books to get youngsters thinking about how they can accomplish something in an easy to read way.
