Book Summary
It's Baby Duck's birthday, and everyone is getting ready for his birthday party under the maple tree. The games have been planned, and every animal looks its best. Baby Duck follows along, as he gets ready, but he shows up for the party in an unexpected manner.
Classroom Application
The book is full of sounds that young children will enjoy. I love using these books with kindergarten (and preschool students) as we explore sounds in phonological awareness activities. Listening to those sounds and repeating them helps them to hear sounds in letters and words. Click, Clack, Surprise! makes it fun and exciting for young children.
