Where have I been? I have never seen these "pea" books by Keith Baker. Tuesday at the library, I was looking at the new kids' books. I picked up the book Hap-pea All Year by Keith Baker and thought it was perfect for the New Year. {Affiliate links provided to fund future book purchases.}
Book Summary
Keith Baker has brought back his "peas" to help young learners with the months of the year. Each month is highlighted with peas all around it and a fun poem to help remember what might happen in that particular month. The illustrations are rhymes are perfect for young learners as they learn the months of the year.
Classroom Application
Hap-pea All Year seems to be a no-brainer for helping children learn the months of the year and what happens in each month. It would also make a perfect model text for writing short poems for the months of the year or days of the week. Older students could use this to help them create their own books about days of the week or months of the year. What fun ideas they could come up with!
I hope all of you have a wonderful year! Stop back by on Sunday as I join my friends from The Reading Crew in a fun blog hop you don't want to miss!
