Teacher Fitness Favorite Workouts

First of all ~ Congratulations to Hilary, the winner of my big Christmas giveaway!  I bet she is having so much fun spending her money in Teachers Pay Teachers!  I know I would be!

This time of year is always hard for all of us!  The eating, the going out, the eating, the lazy days, and the eating!  How do we combat it all?  It takes a lot of dedication, that's for sure!

I am linking up with my friend Melissa at Don't Let the Teacher Stay Up Late for her Teacher Fitness Thursday.  This month is all about our favorite workouts.  That is a no-brainer for me!

I get up most mornings by 5:00 AM to get in a good workout.  After getting to my goal weight 3 years ago, I am not going to lose my groove.

Here are some of my favorites!

1.  Three days out of the week I do some sort of cardio.  Usually I spend time in my basement on my treadmill.  It is so nice to have it right downstairs, so I don't have to go a gym.  I love having my Nook to read right there where I watch the same news from the night before and get some good reading in.  Being on the treadmill is so mindless, and I really can't think at that point in the morning about what I need to do.

2.  The rest of the days I do either some Pilates or yoga or some sort of strength training.  Here are some of my favorite DVD's to get me going.  If you click on the images below, they will take you to Amazon to find out more about them all!  There are plenty more I use, but these are my absolute favorites!
With only 30 minutes to work out, I maximize my time!  All of my workouts during the school year are meant just for that.  During the summer and other holidays I try to get in a little extra time, about 45 minutes to an hour a day.

It has proven to be helpful and gives me some great energy to survive the day!  It also helps that I walk the halls all day long, getting in more than a mile a day!  You can't beat that!

So, what do you like to do to keep in shape or to give you energy?  Let us know what your favorite workouts are by linking up with Melissa from Don't Let the Teacher Stay Up Late!

Merry Christmas to all!

  3. Thanks for linking up! You're so good at sticking to a schedule. I don't think it would matter if I had a treadmill downstairs - I probably still wouldn't use it!

  4. Andrea,

My fave workout is running-although you wouldn't be able to tell that lately! I have just made a commitment to myself to run (or walk) 500 miles in 2014. Whew! I ran 440 in 2012 but only right at 150 this past year. SO-I'm getting back on the running path again. I feel so good when I run!
