Last Five for Friday for September

I cannot believe that September is almost over, and October is right around the corner!  I am linking up with Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday!

Here are my five random things from this week!

1.  Saturday was super rainy, but we went to the Greek Festival, which is an annual event in our area.  When the rain was gone, we got this picture in!  And the food was so yummy!  I had never really had good Greek food before, but I am sold on it!

2.  I got this new baby this week, but I am not thrilled with it.  It is locked up tighter than Fort Knox!  I can't even create a shortcut for a program that is already on it or update Flash Player.  I have to wait until Wednesdays to do that.  Bummer!  On a good note, my pretty mouse still works with it!  Whoohoo!

3.  I finally have a plan for kindergarten.  We don't do real assessments until October, so I have been waiting.  I have done a few and know who to work with, and now I have found my "groups".  This week we started to work with the difference between letters and words and then sentences.  I had purchased this great Letter, Word, Sentence sort from Lori at Conversations in Literacy, but my stuff got moved around this summer.  I could not find it to save my life and did not have time to reprint it, so I made my own with these headers my mom got when she worked for Hallmark and some stickers.  It worked like a charm.  Now to find my sort!

4.   I created a custom request based on my Fast Pitch and Snowball Fight games.  The words are from the Reading Street series for 4th grade.  You can download the preview by clicking {here} or heading to my Teachers Pay Teachers store to check it out.  If you get it from my TPT store, download the preview for your freebie, which is the long e sound at the end of a two syllable word game.
I hate to be negative, but I just am.  I made the custom request for something I will not be able to use, and the person who wanted it has yet to purchase it.  I even slaved away to have it ready by Wednesday.  Have you ever had that happen?  If so, what have you done?

5.  And I leave you with this!

Happy Friday!  Hope you had a wonderful week!  Head on over to Doodle Bugs Teaching to find out what everyone else has been up to!

    1. I had actually forgotten my phone at home, and my friend took the picture. I am just glad it turned out so perfect!

  4. That is so discouraging! A few weeks ago I had a customer buy my big science notes bundle without reading the description carefully to see it had flipcharts for Promethean (she had a smartboard). So I tried to help and spent HOURS copying and pasting them into PowerPoint only for her to ask for a refund a few days later. I was more than a little annoyed...but I guess it's part of running a business. We just aren't exactly business people and expect better.

  5. Thank you for the shout out, Andrea! I am sorry that you lost the one from me that you already had ready to go. I am sure you know this, but just download it again when you get a chance. Sorry that will be more work!
