Book Talk Thursday ~ Fun Beach Read

I love Thursdays because it can only mean it is time for another edition of ...
This week I am going to delve into the world of fun beach reads!  After traveling for almost three weeks, I had plenty of time to read, read, read!  At the beginning of the summer a new Sophie Kinsella book came out, Wedding Night.  I was super excited to read it and even happier that my library had it as an eBook for my Nook!  Yay!!
I started reading the book right away and had a hard time putting it down.  I have read several other Sophie Kinsella books and have found myself quite amused by them.  The main character is always getting into some kind of predicament that is quite fun!

This book is a little different.  There are two main characters, sisters Lottie and Fliss, who tell the story through their point of views.  They flip flop to let us know what is happening as the other sister is doing her own thing.

Lottie has just broken up with her long time boyfriend because of his lack of commitment.  She meets up with her first love, Ben, who decides they should get married immediately because he is still in love with her.  She agrees but without hesitation and some resistance from her sister.  They end up getting married and running off to Ikonos, Greece, where they first fell in love.

Fliss is determined to ruin their wedding night and entire honeymoon by sabotaging everything.  She meets up with Ben's friend, Lorcan, who is also trying to get in touch with Ben for business purposes.  They both fly off to Ikonos to get what they need from Lottie and Ben.

I won't give any more of it away, so you will pick it up and read it!

The story ends up more like a wild goose chase, but I laughed out loud through many parts of it.  At one point in the car, my husband even asked me what was so funny.  It is not my favorite Sophie Kinsella book, but it was funny, to say the least!  My favorite book by Sophie Kinsella is still The Undomestic Goddess.  If you have never read a Sophie Kinsella book, you must read one!
