Fantastic Friday...At Last!

Fridays are meant for fun, right?!  Well, this year I am making sure that the Reading Center is full of fun!  Last year I always overplanned for Fridays and ended up skipping or rushing through the fun games.  This year, no way will I do that!  I have planned a little reading with a lot of fun!

Today was the first week I had real groups of kids for Interventions, so this was the first Fantastic Friday of the year.  We played games, used the iPads, and had some homemade applesauce.  Can't beat that kind of day!

Here are some pictures of the excitement!

Hopping Frog short vowels game with 2nd Grade
I made the two file folder games 11 years ago before there were so many cute computer things out there.  I hand wrote everything and cut it all out myself, much with my scrapbooking tools.  The kids loved them!  I made those before kids, and I really enjoyed making them.  If I only had the time to do that now!

I am linking up with Kelly at Teaching Fourth for her Fun Friday Linky.
Also, don't forget to stop by Heather's Heart for her Bloggy Blessings Giveaway.  I love the inspiration she gives on her blog.
Until next time!

  1. Your games look fun! Ipads sound wonderful, too! Thanks for linking up!

  2. So much fun!! I hear you on over planning for Friday. I am happy that I only have one special on Friday so we can fit more fun in! I also hear ya on the "before kids". I wish I had more time but with a 2 year old and 5 year old, after they are in bed, I am spent! I usually have papers to grade at night and after that, there are not too many creative juices flowing:) I hope you can stop and check out my blog. I am your newest follower!

  3. Thanks for introducing me to your blog! I'm excited to look around!

  4. I like this idea! We always had a Fun Friday when I taught 4th, and I think I want to do this on Fridays with my groups this year. I know most of them test in the mornings, so it would be a nice break. This will be my first week with kids - we've been doing running records forever!
