Winding down with a Freebie!

This year has really flown!  I cannot believe that I don't have a lot more time left.  I finished my lesson plans for the rest of the year, and many of the days I am giving the Virginia SOL tests to students or there is something exciting going on in the school.  So, I have planned a lot of games for my student groups.

One of the games I have played to review main idea and details with the third graders is Main Idea and Detail Concentration.  It contains 24 main idea cards and 24 matching detail cards.  To create, you print the main ideas on one color and the details on a different color.  Cut and laminate, if you wish.  You could also print on the same color paper, but put some kind of marking on the backs of the main ideas or details to show the difference when playing the game.  The students enjoyed the game and ask to play it over and over again.  If you click on the link above, you can download it for free before I post it on my TPT store.

I came across a great giveaway at Heather's Heart today.  I really love her blog because it reminds us of how wonderful those children are we teach, and at this time of the year, I need it!  She is giving away some great butterfly activities and bowls.  Check it out by following the link below.
My computer is doing something crazy, so that is why it is all in caps. I guess it is time for me to go to bed!
Until next time!

  1. Great idea! I teach first grade but could definitely use this game with them when we are learning main idea and details! Thanks for sharing!
