Book Talk Thursday ~ Trouble With Trolls

I love this time of year when I can spend my days reading Christmas books every day if I want. I've already started reading them with my daughter each night.  And I read one with my 4th graders the other day as well.  It is one of my absolute favorites:  Trouble with Trolls by Jan Brett.

In the book, Treva has is trying to climb Mount Baldy, but the trolls keep trying to take her dog Tuffi.  Her clever ways help her keep Tuffi away from the trolls.  She ends up giving the trolls much of her clothes and has to find a way to keep Tuffi safe in the end.

I love how the true character of Treva shows in the book, which makes it a great book for teaching character traits.  To see my lesson on character traits, head over to Classroom Tested Resources tomorrow.

We had a lot of fun figuring out more about Treva's character and showing how we know.

Until then, link up one of your favorite Christmas or winter themed books in the Winter Book Talk Thursday linky.

    1. They are a lot of fun to read! The pictures tell so much more of the story, and the kids love them too.

  3. I love this book! I really like how the trolls are in the tunnels throughout the book (and there is so much to see in the tunnels) and the way she tricks them at the end. A super Jan Brett book!
