Five for Friday ~ October 24, 2014

I finally worked a full week and have something to write about for Five for Friday!

1.  My kids have been sick on and off for the past few weeks, so we celebrated on Saturday with a fun trip to the pumpkin patch on Saturday because everyone was finally well!

2.  Tuesday was Read for the Record, and our superintendent came to read Bunny Cakes to our kindergarten students.

3.  My third graders are really working on fluency, and this week we focused on attending to punctuation when we read.  We used highlighters to show the punctuation and where to take a short breath and prosody.

4.  Today I got to go to the local quarry with the fifth graders.  It is always a fun trip. One student even said it was the "best field trip ever!"  Imagine that!  And it is only a five minute drive from our school!!

And the mountains were gorgeous!

5.  Today was our first Pinterest party for the year.  We made these fun "square" pumpkins.  The original idea showed straight lines, but I don't have the patience for those.  I went with the wavy lines and love them!  The dots were super simple!!

How was your week?  Let us all know in your Five for Friday post and link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching!
