Five for Friday ~ May 9, 2014

It's Friday!  Only 2 more Fridays with students!!

1.  Exciting news!   I work with the students in our school who fail to meet the benchmark on the PALS assessment, as well as other assessments.  This year, I had two third graders exceed the benchmark and grow TWO reading levels to read on grade level.  AND, we had 10 second graders fail to meet the benchmark at the beginning of the year, and only 3 did not meet it at the end of the year.  Whoohoo!  Now I am praying that the summer slide doesn't happen!

2.  Tuesday I got to attend a Salem Red Sox baseball game with the students who made their AR goal.  It made me think about my students and how they never get to go.  Next year, they will!  I will make sure of it by helping them set personal goals and reach them.

3.  I am still testing, testing, testing.  Only 3 more days of testing after today!!

4.  Our third graders take their math test next week, and their room is right across the hall from me.  I heard a lot of moving around one day, and it sounded like fun.  They were listening to a book and acting it out to review division.  It was all about roller coaster rides, so here is their "roller coaster".  How fun!
5.  The countdown is on!  Only 10 more days of school with our students and 14 more with our work days and professional days.  So ready for summer!!!  How about you?!

What have you been up to?  Link up with Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday and let us all know.
