New URL

I am so excited that I figured out how to have my own domain and not be under a blogspot url.  I have been "readerstars.blogspot" since the beginning of my blog because I couldn't decide on a name, but I knew I wanted something along those lines for a name.

I have been putting it off for quite a while but decided to sit down this weekend and get it done.  I looked at several different options to purchase the domain but ended up at Namecheap.com.  They had the best rates for the year AND for future renewals.  Many of the other companies I looked at had a great deal for the first year, but after that the price went up 3x as much as the first year.  Yikes!  I made sure to ask lots of questions at Namecheap.com before settling on their services.
Namecheap.com - Cheap domain name registration, renewal and transfers - from only $3.98/Year
And when I went to the coupon site namecheapcoupons.com, I got another discount on top of it all, making it less than $10 a year!

I am just excited to have finally gotten to this point in my blogging!  If you are looking to purchase a domain for your blog, I would definitely recommend Namecheap.com.

I used this site to help make sure I was installing it correctly.  I did find that a major trick is to wait a few hours to make sure it is ready to go live.

So, what are you waiting for?  If you are not a dot com yet, head on over to Namecheap.com and grab your domain!

And if you have any questions about it, feel free to ask.  I am happy to help!

  1. I've wondered about purchasing my own domain, but what are the perks? I don't want to spend any extra unless I know it will be worth it.
