Five for End of Break Friday!

Well, today was the last official day of my break.  I am really hoping for some snow days because I have really enjoyed my "schedule" the past couple of weeks!  I am linking up with Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday!

2.  I had a fun break! Christmas was low-key, but New Years was fun!  We took a trip to my husband's alma mater with his college friend, and I listened while they reminisced.  Radford University is a beautiful campus, and I am glad we are so close to it.

We also went up to the Mill Mountain Star, a huge star that overlooks the city of Roanoke.  I always like going up there to see the city!

3.  Andy's friends always bring fun things from their neck of the woods.  They brought us this fun soap, frankincense and myrrh. The funny thing is that he asked another friend of our for frankincense and myrrh for Christmas!  It smells so yummy too!

4.  Today one of my friends and I took the kids bowling.  Zack did pretty good.  He got a spare when I took this picture.

Then we let Ginny Beth bowl, and she made several spares, including her first time!  This little contraption was awesome!!

5.  My Currently !  I missed last month, but I am getting it in today!
Ginny Beth didn't get a nap today, so we are watching a new movie.  I have no clue what is going on, but she is not whining!  For my tradition, I love that we get together with just my husband's family to eat fried oysters.  We used to do it at Christmas with everyone, but people started complaining.  Now we just do it with those who want them.

What have you been up to over the break?  Link up with Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching and find out!

  1. I would love to have a snow day here in Louisiana. Guess I'll have to settle for sunny mornings next week with a temp in the low-mid 20's and me having morning bus duty in it!

  3. I'm so glad I was able to find your blog (after you found mine, of course!) Your blog is going to become one of my new frequent visit stops. I teach mostly struggling readers and am always on the look out for new ways to help them reach their highest potential! Your blog also has a lot of great stuff to motivate me to get mine up and running even better! Enjoy your weekend!

  4. Did you get any snow yesterday? We have some ice, but that's about it. It's just REALLY cold! Steven would LOVE the tradition of eating oysters. He keeps hearing about it and is getting jealous. Glad you've had such a nice break!

  5. Sounds like you had a nice break. We had to go back Thursday :( It always seems too short! I'm a Radford grad too! I love, love, love the campus and surrounding area. My husband is a Hokie grad, so we make it back to the area during football season to get our SW Va fix!
