"I'm Bored" No More Summer! FREEBIE!

Last Wednesday was Zack's first day of summer, and I heard "I'm Bored!"  Oh my!  This cannot be happening!  I knew then that I needed a game plan!

We sat down and made a list of chores, for which he will get a little money for doing.  I also told him that if he tells me that he is bored, he will be cleaning one of our plants whose leaves are quite dusty.  Then I will find some other crazy chore for him to do.

On Thursday we went to Michaels before getting our haircuts to look for some fun things to do.   I found this awesome kit for him to do for only $10, complete with origami paper!
Then, he came up with a fabulous idea!  He has really missed his friend who moved to Minnesota this year and especially as the summer has started.  They used to hang out together and play, and I really miss talking to his mom, a good friend of mine.  He decided that he would be his pen pal.  What a grand idea!  So, I started looking for some fun "boy" stationary, but I didn't want to spend the $30 some dollars for stationary!  What happened to the cheap pads of paper I used to get and use?

We decided to create our very own sports stationary, and I am passing them along to you as a freebie!  Click here or on the pictures below to grab yours!
All of the clipart in it is from wpclipart.com, a wonderful freebie clip art site!  If you haven't checked them out, head on over there now!

I know I will probably hear more "I'm bored" this summer!  What are some ideas for helping your kids beat the boredom this summer?

  2. I remember those days with my boys. That's exactly how I handled it. I told them if I heard, "I"m bored!" I would find one of my chores to share with them. Meanwhile, I would take them to Michael's, Walmart, or Hobby Lobby and find some fun activities for us to do together. I miss those days! Mine are 18 and 20 now. (sigh)

  4. I always kind of giggle when I hear that kids say, "I'm bored" so quickly each summer... I figure that means they had a teacher who kept them busy learning every day in school!
Thanks for this cute freebie, and congratulations on 600+ followers!

    1. I think his teacher did keep them busy and active all year long. He will find something to keep him active and busy soon enough!
