Three Snow Bears Freebie!

This past week I worked with my second graders on comparing and contrasting, since this is a weak issue.  The students read Goldilocks and the Three Bears from Reading A-Z {love this site}, and I read The Three Snow Bears by Jan Brett to them.

After reading the books, the students worked together to create their own Double Bubble Maps.  {I forgot to take pictures of these, but they were pretty good for second graders.}  That evening, I took their Double Bubble Maps home and put their findings onto cards.  I also made cute little cards for the names of the stories.

The next day we did a group activity with the cards.  I gave the students the cards, and they had to place it in the correct place with some string to make our large Double Bubble Map.  Here is ours.

Then we took the strings out and put hula hoops around the parts to show a Venn Diagram as shown below.
They really had fun with this, and I have even thought of some games I could use with these cards.  It would be easy to put them in a pile with a gameboard and see if students can name which story it goes with to move.  This would also make a fun literacy center for students to work on after reading the books. The possibilities are endless!

I have posted this as a freebie in my TPT store.   Grab it by clicking on the picture below or here.
I am linking this up with Classroom Freebies for Manic Monday!
