Five for Friday for Another Crazy Week!

It has been another crazy week, and I have more than five items to post for Doodle Bugs Teaching's Five for Friday Linky.  But I will limit it to five!

1.  Our wonderful weathermen were all calling for winter weather today, so I was totally expecting a day off. My son's school was closed as of the night before, and the other school systems even closed that never closed.  We even joke that one of them has heated streets because they never close.  So, I waited and finally got ready for work and went on my merry way, only to find that we were closing 3 hours early!  Bad call because the snow came right at 11:30 as we were dismissing, and it stuck quick!  Luckily I made it up the mountain to get my little girl and then home to clean the house!

2.  I ran out of laminating film this week and needed to order some more.  I really did not want to make a Sam's run because it is on the other side of town.  I went to Amazon and found some for less than Sam's!  They are $9.83 for a box of 100, making it $19.66 for 200.  That is better than Sam's at a little over $20 plus gas money to get there.  If you have a personal laminator like the Scotch one, click on the link below to go get them through Amazon.

 3.  I had a great time getting back into the classroom this week and working on Author's Purpose.  The students really had a good handle on it by the end of the week.  Go check out my post here .
 4.  I finished my Playful Penguins unit with my second graders, who really enjoyed it.  Here is their circle map.  The blue is what they knew before we read the book. The green is what they learned from reading the book.  How impressive!
5.  Only one more day to enter my Fabulous 400 Follower Giveaway!  There are some great prizes for you to win!  Go enter and good luck!
So, what are your random thoughts for today?  Head on over to Doodle Bugs Teaching and link up.
